The Ultimate Guide to Growing Your Giving

What do you do to serve others on a daily basis? Do you give time? Money? Love? Whatever it may be, think about how you give, and read on for some examples of how we give and how you can apply them to your life!

We have two Bible verses that we continuously think about and act upon. The first is Philippian’s 4:19 which reads:

“And my god will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”

This just means that we don’t have to worry. As long as we are doing the Lord’s work, he will take care of us, which is amazing!

The second verse is Malachi 3:10 which reads:

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

A lot of people don’t know what tithe means. The definition is 10%. This can mean giving 10% of your finances, giving 10% of your time, giving 10% more words of affirmation, etc. We love this rule because it is such a great foundation to start with. If you’re wondering how to give and where to give, find a place you love and give 10%. Here are some examples:

  • You could give 10% of your finances to a local charity

  • You could donate 10% of your time to a local animal shelter

  • You could start giving strangers compliments and more words of affirmation.

Now, we aren’t saying this is something you absolutely must do. However, if you are asking us to help grow your company, we can’t promise it will grow if you are only doing the small, daily tasks. To grow your business, you have to grow your giving.

One helpful way we like to look at this is to look at your own life and what it’s lacking in terms of abundance. Are you lacking time? Are you lacking finances? Are you lacking words of affirmation? Whatever you are lacking, give 10%. You will see it come back in abundance to you. You WILL see opportunity from what you give.

We hope this blog post has provided you with some small steps towards growing your giving. If you want to learn more about giving, or hear how we first got involved with tithing, listen to our podcast Episode 104: Grow Your Giving
